About Us
How We Landed in WNC
Kaspar is from Perth, Western Australia, and Erica is from Portland, Oregon. The Lord brought them together on a bike ride 15 years ago and they've been inseparable ever since. Having lived in 3 different countries over the years, they finally landed in Hayesville, NC over 4 years ago and immediately noticed the lack of a good bike shop despite the thriving cycling scene.
Pulling on Kaspar's extensive experience as a bicycle mechanic and shop manager, and Erica's small business management experience, they started dreaming up The Hayesville Bike Shop. Equipped with a business plan, location, and desire to succeed, they secured funding from Mountain Bizworks and opened on the historic Hayesville Square in April 2023.
The Hayesville Bike Shop is now the premier bike shop within a 3-hour radius serving customers as far as Asheville, Chattanooga, Atlanta, and beyond. Word has gotten out about Kaspar's skills as a master mechanic, able to tackle the most difficult jobs. Having worked for Rockshox, Sram, Cannondale, and Specialized he has the experience and training to take care of every job.
Family First
Our family is everything to us! We started our shop with a dream in our hearts and a deep love for cycling. We now take our two sons onto the trails followed closely behind by our dog Muggsie Bogues. We hope to see you on the trails soon!
